Kintsugi has been practiced in Japan for more than 500 years, using lacquer and gold to repair ceramics while allowing the history of the piece to remain visible. I’ve been thinking about what Kintsugi can offer us through a neurodivergent lens. A late diagnosis. Burnout. Hormonal changes. Career changes. Relationship shifts. Health changes. Changing capacity. Unexpected life transitions. Sometimes life no longer looks the way we thought it would. And sometimes what we need changes too. For me, the “gold” isn’t the difficult thing that happened. It can be the self-understanding, support, boundaries, accommodations, and new ways of living that help us move forward. Your experiences have shaped you. But they don’t have to dictate what comes next. You get to ask: - What do I need now? - What matters to me now? - What actually fits my life now? - That’s also where coaching can help. Curious to learn more? comment “CHAPTER” and I’ll send you more information. 🌿 Follow me @kyokoadhdwellbeing for more neurodivergent wellbeing through a Japanese lens. #ADHDAwarenessMonth #ADHDWomen #AuDHDwomen #AuDHD #ADHD #NeurodivergentWellbeing #kintsugi #ι‡‘ηΆ™γŽ #neurodiversity #neurodivergent

Somehow, they stop counting. δΎ˜γ³ε―‚γ³ (wabi-sabi) is a Japanese appreciation of beauty in the imperfect and impermanent. 🍁 As a Japanese AuDHD woman, I bring that perspective to how I see my own efforts. I can learn from a mistake without letting it define everything I did. In my earlier post, I shared 余裕 (yoyΕ«): having a little time, energy, or space to spare. YoyΕ« gives me room to breathe. An evening with nothing else you need to do. 🍡 With ADHD or AuDHD, everyday things can take more energy than we expect. Having a little room left can make the day feel less rushed. Leave a little space so a hard moment has somewhere to land. Sometimes I spend so much time figuring out the right way to do something that I never actually start. Another tutorial. Another rewrite. Waiting until I feel more confident. I’m practicing letting the first attempt be something I can learn from. A rough paragraph. Sharing a post before I overthink it. Asking someone to keep me company while I begin. And when I’m exhausted or overwhelmed, I may need rest or support before taking that step. ❀️ Is there something you’d like to try without expecting yourself to get it right the first time? #Perfectionism #AuDHD #ADHDWomen #SelfCompassion #NeurodivergentWellbeing

Hi, I’m Kyoko πŸ‘‹ I’m a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), with additional training through ADDCA and MentorCoach. I support ADHD and AuDHD women who are tired of forcing themselves to function in ways that don’t fit. I’m also an AuDHD woman who was diagnosed in my mid-40s. For years, I didn’t understand why everyday life could take so much out of me. My diagnosis changed how I understood myself and how I approach wellbeing. My coaching is holistic and neurodivergent-affirming. I draw from nervous system support, somatic practices such as EFT Tapping, and practical routines that fit the capacity you have today. You won’t hear “just use a planner” here. I’ll be sharing about burnout recovery, self-regulation, sustainable habits, and caring for both your brain and body.
